Chap. 118.—An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of
Dickenson county to appoint a commissioner to take and state the accounts
of ex-county officials with the county.
Approved January 2, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of the county of Dickenson, be, and they are hereby,
authorized and empowered to employ a competent citizen of the said
county as a commissioner to take and state an account of any and all
funds in the hands of any and all ex-officials of the said county, belong-
ing to the state and county, from all sources not accounted for by said
ex-officials, and to report in writing to the said board of supervisors the
amount thereof. The said commissioner is hereby empowered to insti-
tute such proceedings in court to collect the same as he may think proper
and the said board of supervisors is authorized to make a reasonable
allowance to the said commissioner for his service and expenses under this
act to be paid out of the funds when collected from said ex-officials of
said county, to be paid out of the state and county funds in proportion
to the amount of each.
2. This act shall be in force from and after its passage.
