Chap. 1170.—An ACT for the relief of Edward Dodson, a Confederate soldier,
of Rappahannock county.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Edward Dodson, a disabled Confederate soldier, is suffering
from a wound and was a true and gallant soldier during the war and
was loyal to Virginia; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Rappahannock county shall examine into the condition
of the above-named Edward Dodson, a Confederate soldier, and should
it be found that he was true and loyal to Virginia through the war,
and that he is now afflicted and disabled and incapacitated for manual
labor by reason of injury, disease, or old age, that he is needy and
poor and should receive aid from Virginia, and if the county court of
Rtappahannock shall send a certificate of fact to the auditor of public
accounts in Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts is directed
to place the name of Edward Dodson on the pension list and pay him
annually the sum of fifteen dollars on and after the first day of April,
nineteen hundred.
2 This act shall be in force from its passage.
