Chap. 1167.—An ACT for the relief of Charles C. Cahoon, a Confederate
soldier.

Whereas Charles C. Cahoon, a Confederate soldier of company C,
second Virginia cavalry, was a true and gallant soldier during the war,
was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disabilities—to wit:
A gun-shot wound in the right shoulder at the battle of Gaines’ cross-
roads, and from the effects of said wound has but little use of his nght
arm in performing manual labor; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Botetourt shall examine into the condition of the above-
named Charles C. Cahoon, and upon proof of the facts as above stated,
that he should receive aid from Virginia, and should the county court
of Botetourt send a certificate of the facts to the auditor of public
accounts of Virginia, that the auditor of public accounts is directed
to place the name of Charles C. Cahoon upon the pension list, and pay
him annually the sum of fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
