Chap. 1159.—An ACT for the relief of Mary F. Byrd, of Rockingham county,
widow of a Confederate soldier.

Whereas Marv F. Byrd, of Rockingham county, the widow of Levi
S. Byrd, who was a gallant Confederate soldier, and who was very
severely wounded in battle, from the effects of which wounds he never
recovered, but from the effects of which he died after the close of the
war; and
' Whereas the said Mary F. Byrd is in needy circumstances; there-
ore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That when
the facts as heretofore set forth are proved before the county court of
Rockingham county and certified to the auditor of public accounts, the
said auditor shall place the name of Mary F. Byrd, of Rockingham
county, upon the pension roll and pay her the sum of thirty dollars
per annum, under the act paying pensions to widows of Confederate
soldiers, sailors, and marines.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
