Chap. 1154.—An ACT to pension E. L. Marstin and William G. Smith, disabled
Confederate soldiers.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas FE. T. Marstin and William G. Smith were loyal and brave
Confederate soldiers in the service of the state of Virginia throughout
the war between the states, and are now incapacitated for earning livings
by reason of infirmities of age, and disease contracted in service, and are
in want of the necessities of life; therefore,
Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That on proof
of the facts set forth above before the county court of Charlotte—
namely: That they were loval and brave Confederate soldiers in the
service of the state of Vurginia, that they are incapacitated for earning
livings by reason of old age and disease, which were directly contracted
in service and from which they have hee ‘n suffering since the war, and
that they are now destitute, the said court shall certify the same to the
auditor of public accounts, who shall enroll the name of E. lL. Marstin
and William G. Smith as entitled to receive the sum of fifteen dollars per
vear from April first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
