Chap. 1123.—An ACT for the relief of Mrs. Lucy F. Evans and Mrs. Locke,
widows of Confederate soldiers

Whereas Joel Evans and C. II. Locke were both brave and loval
Confederate soldiers, in the service of the state of Virgimia, in the
war between the states, and died after the war from wounds received in
battle, and their widows, Luey F. Evans and M. Endoiley Locke, are now
destitute; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That on proof
of the alleged facts before the county court of Charlotte, as required
by the general law, the auditor of public accounts be, and is hereby, di-
rected to enroll the names of Mistress Luey F. Evans and Mistress
M. Endoiley Locke as entitled to receive each fifteen dollars per annum
from April first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
