Chap. 1110.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to amend
and re-enact section 3 of an act to determine to whom the title to the
Falmouth bridge, in the county of Stafford, shall be conveyed, approved
February 28, 1898.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
three of an act entitled an act to determine to whom the title to the
Falmouth bridge, in the county of Stafford, shall be conveyed, approved
February twenty, eighteen hundred and eighty-six, as amended and re-
enacted by an act approved February twentv-eighth, eighteen hundred
and ninety-eight, entitled an act to amend and re-enact section three
of an act entitled an act to determine to whom the title to the Falmouth
bridge, in the county of Stafford, shall be conveyed, be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows: .
Hereafter it shall be the duty of the county court of Stafford county,
at its April term, nineteen hundred, and at its April term, every four
vears thereafter, to appoint three residents of Stafford county, as bridge
comnnissioners, one for the magisterial districts of Aquia and Rock Hill,
and ona for the magisterial districts of Hartwood and Falmouth, and
one at large: provided, that not more than two of any one political
party shall be appointed, who shall serve for a term of four years, from
the first day of May next, after their appointment, or until their suc-
cessors are appointed and qualify. Each commissioner, when so ap-
pointed, shall qualify and give bond before the said court, or judze
in vacation, with good security, for the faithful performance of the
duties of his office, in such penalty as the court may prescribe.
When any vacancy occurs in the office of bridge commissioner by
death, resignation, or removal, or from any other cause, then the judee
of the county court shall appoint a resident of the county of Stafford
to fill the vacancy so caused, and such appointee shall qualify and give
bond as a regular appointee,
2. The term of the present bridge commissioners shall expire on the
first dav of May, nineteen hundred. The said county court shall have
power to remove any bridve commissioner from office, for misfeasance.
malfeasance, or gross nevlect of duty, and such removal shall be deemed
a vacation of office, and the said court shall have power to increase the
penalty of the bond of any commissioner, or to require additional
security at anv time,
3. This act shall be in foree from its passage.
