Chap. 1078.—An ACT for the relief of Mrs. St. John and Mrs. Booker T.
Davis, widows of Confederate soldiers.

Whereas W. L. St. John and William Davis were worthy and loyal
soldiers in the service of the state of Virginia in the Confederate army,
and were hoth severely wounded, and have since died, leaving their
widows in destitute circumstances and incapacitated by reason of age to
earn @ livelihood by manual labor; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon proof
of the foregoing facets before the county court of Charlotte county, and
the certificate of the same to the auditor of public accounts, the said
auditor shall place the names of the said Mrs. St. John, the widow
of W. L. St. John, and Mrs. Booker T. Davis, the widow of William
Davis, on the pension roll of the state and pay each of them annually
the sum of fifteen dollars on and after the first day of April, nineteen
hundred.
This act shall be in force from its passage.
