Chap. 1067.—An ACT for the relief of Wesley Tieflin, an ex-Confederate
soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Weslev Heflin, an ex-Confederate soldier of Fauquier county,
mf now of Stafford county. while in discharge of his duties as such
soldier as a member of Braxton’s battery, from exposure incident to the
service, Incurred disease of the eyes, and is now suffering from blind-
ness in both eyes, so as to prevent him from performing manual labor,
and that said Wesley Heflin is sixty-four years of age, and has only
two hundred and fifty dollars in value of property, and that he has
two children, both girls, who are unable to support him, and that on
account of the loss of the sight of his eyes he is liable to become a
charge upon the county—
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That when
the judge of the county court of Stafford county certifies to the auditor
of public accounts that the statements set forth in the preamble of this
act are substantially truc, then the said auditor is hereby directed to
place the name of the said Wesley Heflin on the pension list and pay
him annually the sum of fifteen doliars.
