Chap. 1065.—An ACT for the relief of William F. Wingfield, a disable
Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas William F. Wingfield, a Confederate soldier, of company .
second Virginia cavalry, was a true and gallant soldier during the la
war, was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he was wounded in the leg during the war from the effects
of which wound he is disabled; and_
Whereas said William F. Winetield is old and destitute, and unable
to support himself; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That if the
county court of Bedford county shall examine into the condition of the
suid William F. Winefield, a Confederate soldier, and should it be that
he was true and loval to Virginia during the war, and that he is afflicted
and helpless from the wounds above stated, and incapacitated for
manual labor, and that he is needy and poor, and should receive aid from
Virginia, and if the county court of Bedford county shall send a certifi-
cate of the facts to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then the
auditor of public accounts shall place the name of said William F.
Wingfield upon the pension list, and shall pay him annually the sum
of fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
