Chap. 1035.—An ACT for the relief of David M. Rife

Whereas David M. Rife, a Confederate soldier o:
second Virginia regiment, was a true and gallant
late war, was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he was wounded at the battle of Cold —

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Vi

M. Rife, a Confederate soldier, and should it be th
loyal to Virginia during the war, and that he is now afflicted and
helpless from the wounds above stated, and incapacitated from manual
labor, and that he is needy and poor and should receive aid from Vir-
ginia, and if the county court of Bedford county shall sign a certificate
of the facts to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then the
auditor of public accounts shall place the name of David M. Rife upon
the pension list, and shall pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars.
