Chap. 1029.—An ACT for the relief of William P. Jesse, an ex-Confederate
soldier.

Whereas William P. Jesse, an ex-Confederate soldier, of Bedford
county, while a member of company F, twentv-eighth Virginia regi-
ment, was wounded in the right leg in the battle of Gettysburg, June
third, eighteen hundred and sixtv-three, and in the left leg at the battle
of Malvern Hill on the ———— day of ——————, eighteen hundred
and ———-; and
Whereas from the effects of these several wounds the said William P.
Jesse has become helpless and unable to make his support in eonse-
quence of satd wounds; therefore,
1. Re it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That when
the judge of the county court certifies to the auditor of publie accounts
that the statements contained in the preamble of this act are true,
then the said auditor is hereby directed to place the name of said Wil-
ham P. Jesse on the pension list with those receiving thirty dollars
per vear, and pay him annually that amount. ,
2. This act shall be in force from its passare.
