Chap. 102.—An ACT authorizing A. W. Houchins, ex-deputy treasurer of
Patrick county, to levy and distrain for the collection of certain uncollected
taxes and levies assessed in Smith’s River district for the year of 1894.
Approved January 22, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That A. W.
Houchins, ex-deputy treasurer of Patrick county, be, and he is hereby,
given the same power to levy and distrain as is possessed by treasurers
under the revenue laws, to collect all taxes and county levies assessed for
the year of eighteen hundred and ninety-four, in Smith’s river district
of said county, which have not been collected or returned delinquent or
insolvent, and for which the then treasurer has settled with the board
of supervisors and auditor of public accounts. The right to collect such
taxes and county levies by levy or distress shall continue for one year
from the passage of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
