Chap. 1003.—An ACT for the relief of James S. McMillan, a disapled Confed-
erate soldier, of Carroll county.

Whereas James S. McMillan, of company FE, twenty-ninth Virginia
regiment, was a true and gallant soldier during the late war between
the states; and
Whereas he received a gunshot wound while in said service, and is
now suffering from the effects of said wound, and is unable to perform
manual labor from effects of said wound, general debility, and old age;
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be directed to place James "8. McMillan on
the pension list, and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars: pro-
vided, the county court of Carroll county first ascertain the condition
of said McMillan; and that the facts as above alleced be true; and that
the same be certified by county court to the auditor of public accounts.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
