Chap. 972.—An ACT for the relief of Fanny W. England, widow of a Confederate
soldier.
Approved March 4, 1898.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Fanny W.
England, of Buckingham county, the widow of J. L. England, who
died from the effects of disease contracted in the service of the Confed-
erate States during the civil war, leaving the said widow in necessitous
circumstances, shall be listed by the auditor of public accounts for a
pension under the provisions of an act passed by the general assembly
of Virginia, and approved March fifth, eighteen hundred and eighty-
eight, and the act or acts amendatory thereof, for the relief of widows
of Virginia soldiers, sailors and marines, who lost their lives in conse-
quence of disease or disability contracted in the service of the Confederate
States during the civil war. But before said Fanny W. England shall
be so listed she shall establish the above facta before the county court
of Buckingham, and file the proof of the same with the auditor.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
