Chap. 952.—An ACT for the relief of James P. K. Walling, a Confederate soldier
of Scott county.

Whereas James P. K. Walling, a resident of Scott county, who was a
gallant and faithful Confederate soldier, who entered the Confederate
service in eighteen hundred and sixty-one, a member of Company D,
thirty-seventh regiment of Virginia volunteers, third brigade, Jackson’s
corps; and
Whereas the said Walling was wounded in the engagement of the battle
of the Wilderness, and is now sixty years old, and infirm from the effects
of said wounds, and in needy circumstances, which should entitle him
to a pension: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon proof
of the alleged facts before the county court of Scott, the auditor of public
accounts is directed to pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars out
of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
