Chap. 812.—An ACT to provide for the protection of partridges or quail in Henry
county.
Approved March 8, 1898,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall be
unlawful for any person to kill partridges or quail between the first day
of February and the first day of November of any year.
2. It shall be unlawful for any person in said county at any time to
net or trap partridges or quail, or to offer them for sale or to destroy
thaoir ecceas nravidnad thie aghall nat annly ta nerenne noatting or tranning
on their own lands within the time prescribed for in this act for
partridges or quail.
3. It shall be unlawful for any person at. any time to exp
tridges or quail, alive or dead, from said county.
4. Any person violating this act shall be deemed guilty of a
meanor and fined ten dollars for each offence and imprisoned
until the fine be paid, but not exceeding thirty days in each cas
half of the fine to go to the informer.
5. In any prosecution of a person for a violation of this ac
of the possession of any such bird shall be prima facie evidence
guilt.
6. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are her
pealed.
7. This act shall be in force from its passage.
