Chap. 5.—An ACT to regulate hunting partridges in Rockbridge county.
In force December 14, 1897.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be lawful to kill or capture partridges (or quail) in the county of Rock-
bridge between the first day of November and the first day of January
of each year.
2. It shall be unlawful for anyone to capture or kill partridges in the
county of Rockbridge between the first day of January and the first day
of November of each year.
3. Any person violating this act shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and fined not exceeding ten dollars for each offence.
4. In any prosecution of a person for violation of this act, proof of
the possession of any such birds shall be prima facie evidence of guilt.
5. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed,
in so far as they affect the county of Rockbridge.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
