Chap. 439.—An ACT to prohibit hogs or swine from running at large in the Warm
Springs valley and in the valley of the Hot Springs branch, county of Bath.
In force February 21, 1898.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any hog, hogs or swine to run at large in that part of
the Warm Springs valley, in the county of Bath, situated between the
northern line of the property known as the Warm Springs property and
the southern line of the property formerly known as the Little Healing
Springs property, bounded on the east by the crest of the Warm
rings mountain and on the west by the crest of the range of Lit
ountains, parallel with said Warm Springs mountain, and also in tl
rt. of the valley formed by the Hot Springs branch, extending o1
lf mile on either side of said branch, and extending down said bran
r three miles from the junction of the Cedar Creek road with the Wa
rings turnpike at Hot Springs, and the owner or owners who sh
rmit such hog, hogs or swine to run at large in the districts above ¢
ribed, or either of them, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and up
nviction thereof before any justice of the peace shall be fined not |
an two dollars or more than ten dollars for each offence, each su
imal so allowed unlawfully to run at large to constitute a separate a
stinct offence.
2. This act shall take effect from and after the first day of Ma
yhteen hundred and ninety-eight.
