Chap. 262.—An ACT to amend and re-enact. section 459 of the code of Virginia in
relation to lists of deeds to be made out annually by the clerks of courts, and
What lists to contain.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
four hundred and fifty-nine of the code of Virginia in relation to the
lists of deeds to be made out annually by the clerks of courts, and what
hsts to contain, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 409. The clerk of the court of every county or corporation shall an-
nually, on or before the fifteenth of January, make out a list of all
deeds for the partition and conveyance of land, other than deeds of trust
and mortgages made to secure the payment of debts, aud shall also make
out on a separate shect, at the same tine, a list of all deeds of trust and mort-
ages an land, as well as decdls of fruston personal property, nade to secure
the payment of debts, which have been admitted to record in the clerk's
oflice of such court within a year ending on the thirty-first day of Decem-
ber next preceding, w hich first- mentioned list shall state the date of the
deed, when adinitted to record, the names of grantors and grantees, the
quantity of land conveyed, the specified value thereof, anda description
of the same; aad the last-mentioned Uist shall state the date of the deed ef
trust or mortgage, whea aduutted to record, the name of the qrautor, the names
of the creditors, and the amount af debt to ‘each secured by the decd of trust or
the mortgagee in the mortgage, and the amount of debt secured thereby, and
the property conceyed in such decd of trust or mortgage: provided, however,
that copies of the lst last-mentioned shall ouly be furnished to the commissioners
of the revenue, as procided by section four hundred and sirty-one, and not to
the auditor of public accounts, the object of said last-mentioned List being xim-
ply to give to the commissioners of the rerenne the amount of debts secured, so
that the same may be listed for tacation in the manner provided by law,
