Chap. 237.—An ACT to protect mountain trout inthe waters of Alleghany, Bath
and Highland counties.
Approved February 8, 1898,
1. Re it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall be
unlawful to kill, capture or destroy in any way, mountain trout in any
of the waters of the countics of Allezhany, Bath and Highland,
between the first day of July and the first day of May of wah
vear; and from the first dav of May till the first day of July of
each year it shall be unlawful to catch mountain trout in any of said
waters except by angling with hook and line.
2. Any one violating the provisions of this act shall be fined not less
than twenty dollars nor more than fifty dollars for each offense, and
may, at the discretion of the court or justice trying the same, be con-
fined in Jail not exceeding thirty days.
6. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act are hereby re-
peated.
4, This act shall be in force from its passage.
