Chap. 184.—An ACT to anthorize the Franklin female seminary company of Suuth-
ampton county to issue diplomas of graduation.

Approved February 1, 1898. °

1. Be it enacted by the genera] assembly of Virginia, That the Frank-
lin female seminary company of Southampton county shall have the
right to issue diplomas of graduation to such of its students as shall
have passed satisfactory examination on such subjects as they are re-
yuired by the principal of said seminary to stand examinations upon.

2. Said diplomas shall be signed by the principal of said seminary,
whether said principal be lessee or employee of said seminary company,
and shall also be signed by the president and secretary of said seminary
company.

3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
