Chap. 177.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 149 of the code of Virginia,
in reference to pay of judges and clerks of election, so far as it relates to the
county of Henrico.
Approved January 29, 1898.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section one
hundred and forty-nine of the code of Virginia be amended and re-en-
acted so as to read as follows:
§ 149. The judges and clerks of any election held under this chapter
shall receive as compensation for their services the sum of one dollar
sach, and the judge carrving the returns from his voting place to the
ounty clerk’s office shall receive for such service the sum of one dollar;
ind in the counties of Accomac and Northampton all necessary timely
>xpenses; and in the county of Henrico such additional compensation
as may be fixed by the board of supervisors of said county, to be paid
put of the county treasury.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
