Law Body
Chap. 94.—An ACT allowing J. Winton Repass, treasurer of Wythe county,
further time for collection of taxes for the years 1887, 1888 and 1889.
Approved January 290, 184.
Whereas the general assembly of Virginia, at the session of eigh-
teen hundred and ninety-one and eighteen hundred and ninety-two,
passed an act entitled “an act allowing J. Winton Tarter, treasurer
of Wythe county, further time for collection of taxes for the years
eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, eighteen hundred and eighty-
sight and eighteen hundred and eighty-nine,” when it was intended
that the name of J. Winton Tarter should have been J. Winton Re-
pass, and said Repass was thereby deprived of the benefit intended
to be given him: now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be lawful for J. Winton Repass, treasurer of Wythe county, and his
deputies, to collect the taxes and county levies that remain in his
hands or in those of his deputies, for the years eighteen hundred
and eighty-seven, eighteen hundred and eighty-eight, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-nine, eighteen hundred and ninety, eighteen hun-
dred and ninety-one and eighteen hundred and ninety-two, which
have not been returned delinquent or insolvent, by distress or levy,
and that the time for his collection of said taxes be extended to the
first day of February, eighteen hundred and ninety-five.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
