Chap. 846.—An ACT to amend sections 2 and 6 of an act entitled an act incor-
porating Union cemetery, approved February 27, 1852.
Approved March 8, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
second and sixth sections of an act entitled an act incorporating
Union cemetery be amended and re-enacted so as to read as fol-
lows:
§ 2. The said company shall have the right to hold in or near the
town of Leesburg not exceeding in quantity fifteen acres for the
purpose of said cemetery, and shall have power to lay out and orna-
ment the same, to erect such buildings thereon as it may deem neces-
sary and proper, to arrange burial lots, to make and enforce by
reasonable fines and penalties and such by-laws, rules and regula-
tions for the government of the establishment as it shall judge best:
provided that the same be not contrary to the constitution and laws
of the United States and of this state.
§ 6. That there shall ever after be annual meetings of the mem-
bers for the election of trustees, at such time as the by-laws may
require, but in the event of a failure to hold such meeting the trus-
tees then in office shall continue until their successors may ke
elected. But at any such annual meeting fifty lot-holders may con-
stitute a quorum for the transaction of any business.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
