Chap. 825.—An ACT for the relief of W. H. Ewing, treasurer of Prince Ed-
ward county.
Approved March 8, 1894.
Whereas it appears from satisfactory evidence that W. H. Ewing,
treasurer of Prince Edward, had, on August first, eighteen hundred
and ninety-three, the sum of three thousand and six dollars and one
cent, license taxes due the state, deposited in the Commercial sav-
ings bank, of Farmville, Virginia, to the credit of his official name,
and that the said amount was lost in the failure of said bank at that
date without any default of his own; and whereas the sureties upon
the official bond of said W. H. Ewing have, in a writing properly
attested and lodged with the auditor of public accounts, agreed tc
an extension of the time for said Ewing to settle his accounts with
the state: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That time
be granted to W. H. Ewing, treasurer of Prince Edward county, until
December twentieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-five, in which to
settle with the state of Virginia the outstanding account againat
him of three thousand and six dollars and one cent uncollected ag
aforesaid, upon the assent, in writing, of the sureties of said Ewing.
