Chap. 820.—An ACT to amend chapter 225 of the acts of 1891-’92 by adding
after section 67 of said act an additional section authorizing the board of
supervisors of Rockbridge county and the council of the city of Buena Vista
to readjust and settle that part,of the debt of said county chargeable upon
the property in said city.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
chapter two hundred and twenty-five of the acts of assembly of
eighteen hundred and ninety-one and eighteen hundred and ninety-
two, approved February the fifteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-
two, be amended by adding after section sixty-seven of said act an
additional section authorizing the board of supervisors of Rock-
bridge county and the council of the city of Buena Vista to adjust
and settle that part of the debt of said county chargeable upon the
property in said city.

§ 67a. It shall be lawful for the board of supervisors of Rockbridge
county and the council of the city of Buena Vista, in their discre-
tion, to compromise, adjust and settle at such an amount as may be
agreed upon the proportionate part of the existing bonded debt of
the county of Rockbridge, chargeable upon the property in said city,
as well as the proportionate liability of said city for the unpaid
subscription of said county to the Valley railroad, as fixed by sec-
tion sixty-six of this act; and said proportionate part so agreed
upon shall be collected and disposed of as hereinbefore provided ; but
until such settlement is made said act of eighteen hundred an
ninety-one and eighteen hundred and ninety-two shall remain i:
full force and effect.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
