Chap. 801.—An ACT to authorize the board of school trustees of the Clintwood
district in Dickenson county, to sell and convey the present public school
house and lot, and to Purchase another, and to provide for assessing and col-
lecting a tax on said district for said purpose.
Approved March 8, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of school trustees of the Clintwood district in Dickenson
county, Virginia, are authorized to sell and convey the house and lot
known as the Clintwood school-house, and conveyed to said trustees
by J. P. Chase and wife, by deed of record in said county, which is
lot number thirty-six as described in the plan of said town, and to
invest the proceeds arising therefrom in other school property in a
more suitable and convenient place. And the board of supervisors
of said county are hereby authorized to assess, levy and collect taxes
upon the taxable property of said Clintwood magisterial district for
the purpose of building and erecting a suitable and convenient
school-house for said district at Clintwood, in said county and district.
And said board of supervisors of Dickenson county shall levy a4
tax on said district of not less than fifteen, nor more than twenty
cents upon the one hundred dollars’ worth of taxable property of saic
district each year for four years, if it shall be necessary to continue
said tax for so long a period, beginning with the year eighteen hun-
dred and ninety-four, and continuing thereafter so long as may be
necessary to pay for the erection of the building for said purpose
and purchasing land for the erection of said building thereon.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
