Chap. 8.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Warwick county to
increase the salary of the clerk of the county court of the said county.
Approved December 16, 1893.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of the county of Warwick be, and they are hereby,
authorized and empowered to increase the salary of the clerk of the
county court of the said county of Warwick, so that the same shall
not be less than five hundred and fifty dollars, nor more than one
thousand dollars per annum; the same to be paid out of the county
treasury.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
Cruap. 9.—An ACT changing the time of commencing the construction of the
railroad authorized under the act of the general assembly approved Decem-
ber 20th, 1889, incorporating the Washington and Western railroad company,
and completing the main line referred to therein and under the amendments
thereof.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
eight of chapter twenty-nine of the private acts of the session of
eighteen hundred and eighty-nine and ninety, as amended and re-
enacted by chapter eight of the acts of the session of eighteen hun-
dred and ninety-one, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:
§8 The Norfolk and Western railroad company, now vested with
the stock, property and franchises of the Washington and Western
railroad company, shall be required to commence the construction
of the said railroad, formerly known as the Washington and West-
ern railroad company, within four years from December, twentieth,
eighteen hundred and ninety-three, and to complete the construction
of said line to a point of connection with the Maryland and Wasbh-
ington division of the Norfolk and Western railroad company, within
six years thereafter, or otherwise the powers, privileges and fran-
chises hereby granted shall be ipso facto void.
2. Thie act shall be in force from its passage.
