Chap. 770.—An ACT to incorporate the Cleveland cornet band, of New Market,
Shenandoah county, Virginia.
Approved March 7, 1804.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That T. L.
Williamson, C. Shirley, S. P. Fogle, Jacob W. Rice, L. M. Henkel,
EK. L. Zirkle, C. W. Bennick, S. G. Henkel, B. T. Bowman, W. H.
Rupp, C. W. Cushman and J. N. Brenaman be, and they are hereby,
created a body politic and corporate, to be known as the Cleveland
cornet band, of New Market, Shenandoah county, Virginia, with full
power to sue and be sued, and generally to attend to all business of
said band. No incorporator shall be liable for any debt or liability
of said corporation for any greater sum than the amount of his
indebtedness to said corporation for unpaid stock or otherwise. And
the said incorporators and their successors in office shall have full
power and control over all property belonging to said organization.
The capital stock shall not be less than one hundred dollars nor
more than five thousand dollars.
2. No person shall become a member of said organization unless
he shall have been elected by the members of said band and his
election approved by the incorporators hereinbefore named, or their
SuUCCeSSOrs.
3. Said incorporators may, by a majority vote, expel from the or-
ganization any person who is a member thereof.
4. In case of a vacancy in the incorporators, the same may be filled
by a majority vote of those remaining in office.
5. This act shall be in force from its passage.
