Chap. 761.—An ACT to allow a pension to I. T. Phillips, of Pulaski county.
Approved March 7, 18%.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That I. T.
Phillips, who is now confined to his house through injuries received
in the military service of the Confederate States in the late war
between the states, shall be entitled to aid under an act of the gene-
ral assembly of Virginia approved March fifth, eighteen hundred
and eighty-eight, entitled an act to give aid to soldiers, sailors
and marines of Virginia maimed or disabled in the war between the
states, and to widows of Virginia soldiers, sailors and marines who
lost their lives in said war in the military service: provided that if
the hernia was caused by the duties the said claimant was required
to perform in the military service, and the same shall be certified
by the county court of Pulaski county to the auditor of public ac-
counts, he shall be listed for a pension either for partial or total
disability, as the same shall be certified by the said county court.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
