Chap. 700.—An ACT to incorporate the Eastern Shore game protection assc
ciation of Virginia.
Approved March 6, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Joh:
W. Bowdoin, N. W. Nock, Henry E. Byrd, Frank P. Brent, Rober
L. Ailworth, Otho Mears, Max C. Broughton, Gordon B. Jones, T. W
Blackstone, T. W. Russell, George W. LeCato, Stuart K. Powell]
Captain Ben Rich, and such other persons as they may see fit t
associate with them, be, and they are hereby, created into a bod:
politic and corporate, under the name and style of the Eastern Shor:
game protection association of Virginia, with the right to enjoy per
petual succession, have a common seal, make such constitution anc
by-laws as they may see fit, not inconsistent with this act and th
constitution and laws of the State of Virginia and the United States
sue and be sued; contract and be contracted with, with all th
attributes of a corporation.
2. The purposes for which this corporation shall exist are as fol
lows:
The association of gentlemen, with a view of procuring and secur
ing enforcement of a wise and judicious system of laws for the pre
servation of the game of the Eastern Shore of Virginia; restocking
as far as the means of the association will permit, such portions o
the shore as are depleted of game; offering rewards, as far as the
means of the association will permit, for the killing of game, de
stroying animals and birds; the encouragement of an interest or
the part of the people in preserving of the game laws, and inform.
ing upon and securing the punishment of the violators of such laws
3. The officers of said association shall consist of a president anc
vice president, to be chosen from the counties of Accomac anc
Northampton; also a secretary and treasurer, and executive com.
mittee of three or more, to be chosen for such terms and in suck
manner as said association, by its constitution or by-laws, may de.
termine.
4, The principal office of said association shall be at Accomac
courthouse, and all taxes shall be paid in money.
5. Said association may acquire, hold, enjoy and dispose of real
estate not exceeding one thousand acres at any one time.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
