Chap. 691.—An ACT to incorporate the Mutual beneficial association of Rich-
mond.
Approved March 6, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Joseph
B. Montgomery, W. L. Waring, junior, A. W. Garber, Josiah Ryland,
junior, and John Tyler, of the city of Richmond, Virginia, and their
associates, successors and assigns, be, and they are hereby, consti-
tuted a body corporate and politic by the name of the Mutual
beneficial association, and by that name shall be known in law, and
shall have perpetual succession, and shall have power to sue and be
sued, plead and be impleaded in all courts, and may have a common
seal and alter the same at pleasure, and shall have, exercise and en-
joy all the rights, powers and privileges pertaining to corporate
bodies for the purposes hereinafter set forth, and may make a consti-
tution, by-laws, rules and regulations consistent with the laws of the
state for the government of all under its authority.
The general objects of said association are:
Firat. To unite persons of good moral character who may be ac-
ceptable.
Second. To give material aid to its members.
To form a brotherhood of its members, who shall at death hav
certain beneficial privileges allowed the family of such membe
as he may direct, or, in case of his failure to direct, to his legal repre
sentatives.
Fourth. Said association may acquire and own real estate. It
principal office shall be in the city of Richmond, Virginia.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
