1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
first section of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Kentucky
Virginia, Tennessee and Carolina mining and development company.

amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Joseph L. Kelly, G. W. Lovell, H. J. Ayers, A. B. Eaton and R. A
Ayers, their associates and successors, be, and they are hereby, in
corporated and made a body politic and corporate under th:

yany, and by that name shall be known in law, and shal]
yerpetual succession, power to sue and be sued, plead a:
mpleaded, defend and be defended in all courts, whether in
quity, and may make and have a common seal and alter and
he same at pleasure, and shall have, enjoy and exercise a
‘ights, powers and privileges pertaining to corporate bodie
necessary for the purpose of this act, and make by-laws, rul
egulations consistent with the existing laws of the state f
yovernment of all under its authority, the management of its ¢
1nd properties and the due and orderly conduct of its affairs.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
