Chap. 657.—An ACT for the protection of game in the county of Brunswick.
Approved March 5, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
not be lawful for any person to kill, capture, offer for sale or to buy
partridges in the county of Brunswick between the first day of Feb-
ruary and the fifteenth day of October of each year.
2. It shall not be lawful for any person to kill, capture, buy or
sell deer, or to chase the same with dogs with intent to kill or cap-
ture them, between the first day of February and the first day of Sep-
tember; or to kill, capture, buy or sell wild turkeys between the first.
day of March and the twentieth day of October of each year.
3. It shall not be lawful for any person to take or destroy the eggs
of partridges or wild turkeys at any time; and the possession of the
game or the eggs enumerated in this act during the period inter-
dicted shall be deemed and held a violation of the same.
4, Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and, on conviction thereof before any justice or
court, shall be fined for each offence not less than five nor more
than twenty dollars, and upon failure to pay the fine imposed may
be confined in jail until the fine be paid: provided the period of
imprisonment shall in no case exceed thirty days.
5. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of
this act are hereby repealed.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
