Lynchburg lodge, No. 1, independent order of Odd-Fellows, approvec
March 4, 1892.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sectior
one of an act approved by the general assembly March fourth, eigh.
teen hundred and ninety-two, entitled an act to incorporate Lynch:
burg lodge, number one, independent order of Odd-Fellows, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Roy.

Franklin, D. A. Butler, Robert Christian, John Merchant, Stepher
Lewis, Halcomb Scott, Benjamin Booker, Preston Murphy, Johr
Curle, Charles H. Shearer, William Logwood, Roderick Davis, Rob
ert Johnson, John Evans, John Jennings, Wesley Cunningham, Ed.
mund Elridge, Charles Dickerson, James H. Thomas, the presen
officers and members of Lynchburg lodge, number one, independen
order of Odd-Fellows, of Lynchburg, Virginia, and their successors
be, and they are hereby, declared to be a corporation and body poli
tic by the name, style and title of Lynchburg lodge, number one
independent order of Odd-Fellows (colored), and shall be capable
in law to have, receive and hold by purchase, gift, devise or beques
real or personal estate, and lease, rent, sell or otherwise dispose o
the same in such manner as may be advantageous: provided, always
that the said corporation or body politic shall not at any time hol«
or possess property, real, personal or mixed, exceeding in value the
sum of twenty-five thousand dollars. The said Lynchburg lodge
number one, independent order of Odd-Fellows (colored), shall
have power and authority to constitute branch bodies, granting due
dispensation thereto.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
