Chap. 563.—An ACT to incorporate the W. J. Dance company, of Danville, Vir-
ginia.
Approved March 2, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That W. J.
Dance, William P. Bethell, and such other persons as may be asso-
slated with them, be, and are hereby, incorporated and made a body
bolitic and corporate under the name and style of W.J. Dance com-
pany, and by that name may sue and be sued, and do all other acts
elonging and appertaining to corporations under the laws of this
-ommonwealth.
2. Said company shall be authorized and empowered, as agent and
oroker for other companies, associations and individuals, to conduct
and carry on the businers of life, fire and accident insurance ; to en-
gage in and transact a real estate business by renting, letting, pur-
chasing or selling real estate for itself or others; do all acts and ex-
ercise all powers requisite and necessary in the management, con-
duct and prosecution of the aforesaid business in all branches
thereof.
3. The capital stock of said company shall be ten thousand dol-
lars, to be divided into shares of one hundred dollars each; and any
number of shares and any proportion of the capital stock of said
company may be held by one or more of the shareholders therein.
4. Said company shall be empowered to hold real estate not ex-
ceeding five hundred acres.
5. All taxes, debts and demands due the commonwealth from said
company shall be paid by said company in currency, and not in cou-
pons.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
