Chap. 556.—An ACT for the relief of George A. Wilson, late treasurer of Nor-
folk county. —
Approved March 2, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the au-
ditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and directed to issue
his warrant in favor of George A. Wilson, late treasurer of Norfolk
county, for three hundred and one dollars and eighty cents, payable
out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the
same being the amount of erroneous assessment of state taxes by the
commissioner of revenue of district number two of said county
against the Elizabeth City and Norfolk railroad for the year eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-two, on capital invested, which sum said
George A. Wilson, then treasurer of Norfolk county, paid into the
said treasury without collecting the same from the said railroad
company: provided the said auditor of public accounts shall not
issue his aforesaid warrant until the said assessment is shown, to
the satisfaction of the proper legal authorities, to have been errone-
ous and has not been paid by the said company to said George A.
Wilson, or that the full amount of legal tax for the said year has
been paid by the said company to the state.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
