Chap. 521.—An ACT to amend sections 3501 and 3502 of the code of Virginia,
as amended by chapter 57 of the acts of the general assembly of 1889-’90,
entitled an act to amend sections 3501 and 3502 of the code of Virginia, as to
fees of commissioners in chancery.
Approved March 1, 1894.
I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sections
thirty-five hundred and one and thirty-five hundred and two of the
code of eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, as amended by chapter
{ty-seven of the acts of the general assembly of eighteen hundred
and eighty-nine and eighteen hundred and ninety, and approved
February eleventh, eighteen hundred and ninety, be amended and
Te-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 8501. Of commissioners in chancery.—For services which might
be performed by notaries, the like fees for like services; for any
other service, such fees as the court by which the commissioner is
appointed may from time to time prescribe, not exceeding seventy-
five cents, where less than an houris employed, and if more than an
hour be employed, not exceeding the rate of seventy-five cents for
each hour; but nothing herein contained shall affect the fees of
commissioners in chancery residing in the cities of Richmond, Nor-
folk, Alexandria, Danville and Roanoke.
§ 3502. Their fees in certain cities—A commissioner in chancery
residing in the cities of Richmond, Norfolk, Alexandria, Danville,
Roanoke and Manchester may charge for their services which might
be performed by a notary the like fees for like services, and for any
other services such feee as the court by which the commissioner is
appointed may from time to time prescribe, not exceeding one dol-
lar, where less than an hour is employed, and if more than an hour
be employed, not exceeding the rate of one dollar for each hour.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
