Chap. 387.—An ACT to place George Alexander, a disabled Confederate soldier,
on pension list.

Whereas George Alexander, of Staunton, Virginia, a Confederate
soldier, and a member of company A, fourth Virginia infantry, was
wounded and suffered the loss of a leg at the battle of Chancellors-
ville, and though not in the class described in the statute as entitled
to pensions, is rendered helpless to a degree that justly entitles him
to receive a pension: therefore, :
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, directed to list
George Alexander for a pension of thirty dollars: provided that the
said George Alexander shall prove before the county court of Au-
gusta county the facts as to his disability, and of his financial status
as provided by the general pension law, and the same be certified to
the auditor of public accounts by said court.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
