to incorporate the trustees of the Baptist ministers’ relief fund of Virginia,
approved January 16, 1886.
Approved February 28, 1894,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
two of an act entitled an act to incorporate the trustees of the Bap-
tist ministers’ relief fund of Virginia, approved January sixteenth,
eighteen hundred and eighty-six, be amended and re-enacted so as
to read as follows:
§ 2. The said corporation shall have power to make and adopt by-
laws, rules and regulations for the admission and expulsion of bene-
ficiaries, and for their government, the election of its officers and to
define their duties, and for the safe-keeping and protection of its
property and funds; and from time to time to alter or repeal such
by-laws, rules and regulations. All vacancies which have occurred
or may hereafter occur in said trustees shall be filled by the trustees
from a list of at least two persons for each vacancy, which list it
shall be the privilege of the Baptist general association of Virginia
to furnish to such trustees ; and should the trustees fail or refuse to
fill such vacancies by the selection of persons named in such list,
any person in fellowship with any regular Baptist church in Vir-
ginia may compel a compliance with the provisions of this section
by writ of mandamus sued out from any court having jurisdiction of
such writs; and should the Baptist general association of Virginia
fail or refuse to furnish such list, in that event the said trustees
may fill all vacancies without such list.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
