the widow of a Confederate soldier.
Approved February 19, 1894.
Whereas W. B. Pointer, in the county of King William, received
wounds in the service of the Confederate States in the late war be-
tween the states, of which wounds he died within twelve months
after receiving the same; and whereas Emily Pointer, the widow of
said W. B. Pointer, is a resident of the county of King William,
state of Virginia, and does not own property of the value of one
thousand dollars, and has not an income of three hundred dollars
per year: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the said
Emily Pointer shall be authorized and empowered to appear before
the county court of King William county and prove her claim for a
pension as if her said husband had been killed in actual service of
the Confederate States; and it shall be lawful for the said county
court to allow such pension as provided in cases of widows of Con-
federate soldiers.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
