Chap. 28.—An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 3 and 7 of an act entitled
an act to incorporate the Empire transportation company.
Approved January 13, 1804.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That see-
tions three and seven of an act entitled an act to incorporate the
Empire transportation company, approved January fourteenth, eigh-
teen hundred and ninety-two, be amended and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:
§ 3. The said company may acquire by purchase or condemnation,
under the provisions of chapter forty-six of the code, of Virginia, or
otherwise, and hold real estate not to exceed two acres at each land-
Ing place, and may mortgage and encumber its property, both real
and personal, by deed of trust or otherwise, and dispose of its real
estate, wharves, docks, and any other property and privileges as it
may deem necessary for the proper conduct of its business, and may
issue bonds to be secured on its property and franchises.
$7. The provisions of this charter shall be complied with within
two years from the first day of January, eighteen hundred and ninety-
four, otherwise the same shall be void.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
