Chap. 235.—An ACT to protect Mongolian or English pheasants in Spotsylva-
nia and Caroline counties.
Approved February 12, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
xe unlawful to kill or capture, sell or offer for sale, or buy any Mon-
rolian or English pheasants in the counties of Spotsylvania and
Jaroline between the first day of April, eighteen hundred and ninety-
our, and the first day of April, eighteen hundred and ninety-six.
2. It shall at any time be unlawful in said counties to take or de-
stroy the eggs of any English or Mongolian pheasants, or to catch
‘be birds with nets or traps in said counties.
3. The posession, except for purposes of breeding, of any English
or Mongolian pheasants, whether dead or alive, by any person, shall
be prima facie evidence that such person has violated this law.
4. Any person convicted of violating any section of this law shall
be fined not less than twenty-five dollars.
5. This act shall be in force from its passage.
