Chap. 224.—An ACT to enable commissioners in chancery to compel the at-
tendance of witnesses before them.

I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That a
missioner in chancery, to whom has been referred any account or
her matter, imay compel the attendance of all needed witnesses by
immons, rule and attachments in like manner as a circuit court,
ive that he shall not have the power of imprisonment. But any
itness who has been fined by a commissioner, acting under the
uthority of this statute, shall, within ten days from the order of fine.
ave an appeal of right, without giving bond, to the court by whom
he commissioner was appointed.
2. All acts or parts of acts in conflict herewith are hereby to that
xtent repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
