Chap. 208.—An ACT for the protection of certain game in the county of Eliza-
beth City.
Approved February 12, 1804.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it.shal]
be unlawful for any person within the county of Elizabeth City to
hunt, trap, catch, shoot or kill any partridge, quail, rabbit or wood-
cock, between the passage of this act and the fifteenth day of Novem-
ber, eighteen hundred and ninety-five, and thereafter from the first
day of February to the fifteenth day of November of any year. Any
person violating any of the provisions of this act shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and fined not Jess than five nor more than
fifty dollars, one-half of said fine to go to the informer; and the pos-
session of the dead bird shall be prima facie evidence of guilt.
2. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are hereby
repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
