Chap. 17.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Shenandoah county
to cause all dogs of said county to be muzzled and confined, and if found
running at large thereafter may be killed.

Whereas there exists in the county of Shenandoah many cases of
hydrophobia of a rabid character, which alarming and fatal disease
18 rapidly spreading throughout the county; and whereas the board
of supervisors of said county are officially helpless in the premises:
1. Be it enacted therefore by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the board of supervisors of Shenandoah county are hereby
authorized, in their discretion, to require all of the dogs in said county
or any district thereof to be muzzled or kept confined, and after said
board may have taken action as hereinbefore provided for and notice
shall be given by satd board of its action that any dog thereafter
found running at large in said county without being properly muz-
zled may be killed by any official or citizen of said county.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
