Chap. 121.—An ACT to protect Mongolian and English pheasants in King
George and Stafford counties.
Approved February 1, 1894.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful to kill or capture, sell or offer for sale, or buy any Mon-
golian or English pheasants in the counties of King George and Staf-
ford between the first day of April, eighteen hundred and ninety-
four, and the first day of April, eighteen hundred and ninety-six.
2. It shall be unlawful at any time in said counties to take or
destroy the eggs of any English or Mongolian pheasants, or to catch
the birds with nets or traps in said counties.
3. The possession, except for purposes of breeding, of any English
or Mongolian pheasants, whether dead or alive, by any person, shall
be prima facie evidence that such person has violated this Jaw.
4. Any person convicted of violating any section of this law shall
be fined not less than twenty-five dollars, and two dollars and fifty
cents shall be taxed as part of the cost, which shall go to the informer.
5. This act shall be in force from its passage.
