CHAP. 743.—An ACT for the relief of D. Franklin Brown, a dis-
abled ex-Confederate soldier.

Whereas D. Franklin Brown, of Fauquier county, a pri-
vate soldier of company A, Forty-third battalion of Vir-
ginia cavalry, was, by hardsbips and exposure endured in
the Federal prison at Point Lookout, so disabled ‘as to be-
come a cripple for life, and yet does not come within the
provisions of the general statute allowing pensions; there-
ore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby,
directed to list the said D. Franklin Brown for the pension
of thirty dollars per annum.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
