CHAP. 688.—An ACT to provide for the removal of pending
causes from the corporation court for the city of Roanoke to
the circuit court for such corporation.
Approved March 3, 1892.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That any suit, motion or other civil proceeding now pend-
ing in the corporation court for the city of Roanoke shall
be removed, as of right, to the circuit court having juris-
diction over such corporation, on the motion of any party
thereto; but ten days’ notice of the motion for such re-
moval shal] be given to the adverse party or his attorney.
When any cause is ordered to be removed under this act
the clerk of the corpofation courf shall transmit to the
clerk of the circuit court the original papers with the
copies of all rules and orders made and a statement of
the costs incurred by each party therein. Whereupon the
cause shall be proceeded in, heard, and determined by the
court to which it is removed, as if it had been brought,
and the previous proceedings had, in said court. The
costs attending such removal shall be charged as may be
thought just by the court from which, or if it made no
orders on the subject, by the court to which, the cause is
removed.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
